How to Use Video/Audio Files to Create Lesson Materials

Step 1

In the left sidebar, click the Tools icon. Select Listening at the top of the page. You’ll see several tools, such as:

  • Audio & Video Question Creator
  • Convert Audio & Video to Text
  • Audio & Video Summary GapFill, etc.

Click on the tool that best matches the activity you want to create.

Step 2

Inside the tool, you’ll see two options to upload your media:

  • Paste a YouTube or video link, or
  • Drop a file or select one from your computer

Pay attention to the supported formats and file max size (500MB):

  • Audio: .mp3, .wav
  • Video: .mp4

Step 3

Select the length of the extract you want to work with by moving the sliders on the left and right sides.

Choose the language of the video (optional), and select the level of the materials you want to create — we offer options by CEFR level, age group, and U.S. grade level. Once everything is set, click the Do the Magic button.

Step 4

You’ll receive your generated activity in less than a minute. To show or hide the video, click on the three dots at the top of the task and toggle the switch.

Note:

If you just want to add a video to your lesson without creating an exercise:

  1. Go to the Tools page.
  2. Click on Utility Tools at the top.
  3. Select Add Your Video.
  4. Follow the same steps as above: paste a link or upload a file, and click Add to the lesson.
