How to Clear a Student’s Results to Allow a Retake
Sometimes, students begin working on an assignment but don’t submit their answers — this applies to both open-ended and multiple-choice questions. As a teacher, you can review their progress and choose whether to let them revise their work or start over. This guide shows you how to clear or unsubmit a student’s answers so they can retake a task.
Step 1
Go to My Library and open the lesson you need.
Switch to Interactive mode by clicking the Interactive button at the top. If you see the Assign button, it means that you are in Interactive mode already.
Step 2
Click the three dots next to the Assign and Edit buttons at the top of the lesson page.
From the dropdown menu, select Students' results.
Step 3
You’ll be taken to a page showing a list of your students, including their names, completion dates, and total scores. Click on a student’s name to view their answers and see their progress on each exercise.
Step 4
Click on the three dots in the top right corner, and select Clear student answers or Unsibmit student answers from the menu.
What’s the difference between Clear and Unsubmit?
- Unsubmit keeps the student’s existing answers but reopens the task, allowing them to edit and resubmit.
- Clear removes all of the student’s answers and resets the task to its original state — as if it was never started.
This applies to all question types, including open text and multiple choice.
If a student selected an answer but didn’t submit it, you’ll still see their progress — and you can either unsubmit or clear it.
